With the 2023 season fast approaching, it's almost time to begin/ continue our rep team tryouts. A long time vision for TMBI has been to have a rep team at every age group (9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and so on) starting with an 8U select team. This is not something that can be implemented for the older aged players as the number of players sometimes thins out as they get older. The long term goal is to keep kids playing competitive baseball in Tillsonburg longer. We will be assessing the tryouts this spring to see if we have an opportunity to achieve the first step of this plan but there are however a lot of factors we have to consider first.
We need the interest in rep ball and we would need coaches for these new teams created ( we already have coaches for the current rep teams). Coaching rep ball is a commitment to the time coaching and the clinics to be taken to be certified by Baseball Ontario.
While this is our vision, we will do what's best for the players in Tillsonburg Minor Baseball. If we feel that this is not quite ready to implement this season then it will be something that we will try to implement next year.
Please keep an eye on the website and our social media posts for the upcoming rep tryouts and if your child has any interest in rep ball I encourage you to bring them out.
